Trig Aerobatic Team open hangar doors for VIP winners

October 14, 2016

Twenty lucky VIP winners met at Sywell airfield to tour the Trig Aerobatic Team’s new hangar facility.

The restoration hangar is home to a unique collection of historic aircraft and war birds, being restored to airworthy condition by Richard Grace and his team of expert staff. Sywell was an excellent venue to celebrate the roll out of Trig’s 8.33 stack radio – the TY96, a new British avionics product featured at a vintage British airfield. A competition was run by Pilot Magazine who were enthusiastic supporters of the event.

While being treated to lunch, our VIP guests were able to soak up the atmosphere of  Sywell’s historic art deco Cirrus Suite. Richard Grace, Dave Puleston and Bob Bull shared their knowledge and showed the party around the Spitfire Blister, home to a  collection that includes a Supermarine Spitfire, Seafire, original WW1 SE5 and various other restoration projects.

The Trig Aerobatic Team then took to the skies to in their Pitts Specials, allowing  guests to view their display. Sywell Aerodrome was the ideal backdrop, it opened in 1928 making it one of the oldest flying clubs in the UK.

Jon Roper, Trig’s Marketing Manager said, “We wanted to allow pilots and aviation enthusiasts to share our the excitement for historic aircraft and celebrate the roll out of the  TY96 radio.” Trig supports grass roots aviation and we knew giving access to this unique collection of vintage aircraft would be popular.”

Trig has sponsored the Trig Aerobatic Team for four years and when Richard and Dave are not displaying the Pitts they are hard at work running their business Air Leasing which has gained a first class reputation for restoration work.
