T-28 Trojan Phlyers select Trig for 2020 ADS-B
The unmistakable and distinctive growl of the North American T-28 Trojan is a favourite sight and sound at airshows.
Proudly keeping this famous aircraft in flight is the Trojan Phlyers Flight Demonstration Team. The team has selected Trig Avionics as their ADS-B and VHF avionics of choice.
Ex-military F16 combat vetran Chip Lamb is the Trojan Phlyers team leader. Chip Lamb said, “The whole team here in Texas is impressed by the quality and capabilities of Trig’s compact and certified avionics. Each Trojan will be fitted with a TT22 transponder and TN72 GPS position source – as a result we will be ADS-B Out capable. Trig’s ADS-B solution looks great in the panel, improves our flight safety and will enable fans to monitor our flights, as we display across the country.”

Trig ADS-B solutions are available for all pilots looking for a 2020 solution. The TN72 GPS position source meets ADS-B rule FAR 91.227. It can be used with a TT22 or TT31 transponder in experimental, light-sport and homebuild aircraft to meet the 2020 mandate. Trig’s TN72 is highly affordable, costing just $ 380 list ex.tax.
Trig offers two antenna options, the TA70 is a conventional puck GPS type or the latest TA50 compact GPS antenna. For Part 23 certified types Trig has a TSO-C145 GPS called the TN70. A free STC for over 650 aircraft types makes installation simple, when using a suitable Trig transponder.

AOPA regional fly-ins make it easier for local GA pilots to network and expand their aviation knowledge. Trig is pleased to be attending the AOPA fly-in at Jack Edwards airport this weekend.

With this equipment fitted, an ADS-B Out installation time of approx only five hours makes the TT31 significantly more cost-effective compared to other ADS-B options.

Trig Avionics has officially opened its new European Office, in Amersfoort in the Netherlands.
Trig manufactures certified communication, navigation and surveillance equipment for general aviation. This location will host a European Sales, Support and Manufacturing operation.
Trig CEO, Andy Davis said, “This is a really significant day for Trig. As a growing company this new facility allows us to continue to provide the very best customer service across aviation.”
A group of guests and company staff joined local Alderman Fatma Koşer Kaya, who officially opened the building. Alderman Koşer Kaya, said, “I’m pleased to welcome Trig to the Netherlands, to our Utrecht Region. The Netherlands is a great place to do business, as Andy and his team have discovered. It is also a testament to the efforts of various agencies that have made this possible and have shown the strengths of our region. The teams from the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency, from Invest Utrecht and colleagues from the City of Utrecht and Amersfoort all recognize the value that Trig will bring to the region.”
Trig have already employed a number of local staff, but several technical roles are still open. The company also used recruitment agencies and the services of Werkgeversservicepunt Amersfoort, the government employment agency. Trig also expressed their gratitude to various business and commercial colleagues, along with local Trig dealers who were at the office opening to celebrate.
Making a unique contribution to the event was bagpiper, Gilian Hettinga from MacKay Bagpipe Services, he loudly welcomed guests to the building. Trig is headquarterd in Edinburgh Scotland, so this traditional greeting was matched by Haggis. This fine Scottish tradition may not have been to everyone’s taste, but certainly underlined this international collaboration.
Over the coming weeks the new office will develop its capacity and service to Trig customers. Andy Davis said, “We are an international company and through our dedicated dealer network this new office will provide existing and future products to pilots and aircraft owners – ensuring our ongoing success.”
Trig has announced plans to move its regulatory HQ to the Netherlands, as part of its planned European expansion.
From spring 2019 production and certification of Trig products will be controlled from the Trig office in the Netherlands. These new regulatory arrangements will ensure that Trig products can be purchased with confidence. This change in compliance, will mean Trig products are unaffected by any potential disruption caused by Brexit aviation restrictions (as reported in news media).
Earlier this year, Trig announced plans for a new office in Amersfoort. Trig CEO Andy Davis said, “Development of our new operation in the Netherlands is going well. Amersfoort will become our regulatory HQ as well as our European sales office. This removes concerns about the impact of Brexit. Trig products will remain available, and certification for all markets will be secure. Customers can buy Trig products, reassured that it’s business as usual.”

The new location will include a Part 145 Service Centre, providing support for customers based in Europe. New staff have been hired locally, and Trig is recruiting for additional technical staff – vacancies still exist for suitably qualified candidates in Amersfoort.

Trig is proud to announce that Lynn Reid, Trig’s HR Manager had been recognised by the city of Edinburgh for her volunteering services.
Lynn received the Inspiring Volunteering Achievement Award from the Lord Provost of Edinburgh at the event on Wednesday 6th June 2018 in the City Chambers. Lynn was nominated by LINKnet Mentoring where she is a Mentor and Board Director.

Lynn has a long history of volunteering. She said, “I have also volunteered for Crisis Edinburgh Skylight – I was their first volunteer when they were setting up Edinburgh Skylight in 2012 and while I was volunteering there I found out about LINKnet.
Linknet. is the first and the only direct mentoring organisation that is established to serve minority ethnic communities in Edinburgh, the Lothians, Scottish Borders and Fife. It was established to serve disadvantaged ethnic minorities in their pursuit of development. Since opening, thousands have taken part in various mentoring programmes, education and employment mentoring.
Lynn went on to say, “As well as becoming a Mentor in 2012 I also undertook research work to help establish their Diverse Recruitment Consultancy (DRC) and I became a Board Trustee in 2014.”
Lynn added, “I also do pro-bono work for Inspiring Scotland which includes giving HR advice to the charities they support and delivering leadership development events for them. I really appreciate the time, resources and support I receive from Trig to enable me to do my voluntary and pro-bono work.”
