Sales

We are in an exciting phase of growth; increasing our market share and building a strong team. This growth has created a new opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced Account Manager to join our Sales and Marketing team.

Sales Account Manager - Apply Now

Based in Edinburgh, working as part of a talented and ambitious team, our new Account Manager will promote and sell Trig Avionics products and increase product sales across the Approved Trig Dealer network. As a key member of the team, you’ll grow sales through regular, timely, and professional dealer contact and by providing product training and education to improve knowledge of Trig and our products.

You’ll have the opportunity to represent Trig at international trade shows and events where you will have a high profile and presence in dealer and customer interactions – winning new business and expanding networks. You’ll also strengthen existing relationships with dealers and customers to achieve sales growth through telephone sales contact, e-mail and face to face sales related activity.

You’ll be expected to provide data and insights on sales performance to achieve the best use of resources, develop market intelligence and report on activity in the avionics sector, including all major competitors. In this role you will have to show strong product and company knowledge and maintain knowledge of competitor products and services.

If you have a proven track record in technical sales in a B-to-B environment and have been a prominent and highly regarded representative of a company in a niche manufacturing sector, we’d love to hear from you.

You should have experience of dealing with technical subject matter and absorbing complex technical information which you communicate effectively. You will excel at writing all manner of communications; from strategic papers to short, engaging, marketing documents.

With exceptional interpersonal skills, you’ll have dealt with a wide range of customers; being able to develop a positive rapport on first meeting and build solid relationships over time. You’ll enjoy making sales calls, presenting and pitching for business and will be totally comfortable presenting at larger meetings and conducting dealer training.

You will be able to plan your own work flow and execute against time and target, but will also relish being part of a successful team. You should be confident in your knowledge and use of IT systems to ensure that you research, record and report with accuracy.

You’ll enjoy ‘being on the road’ to do business internationally, and you should be able to communicate in at least one other European language – preferably French or German.

We have a positive culture which will appeal to anyone with an interest in aviation. We have regular team flying days and offer subsidised flying lessons. Full product training will be provided if you are new to this industry however preference will be given to candidates with relevant experience or a passion for aviation. A pilot’s license would be highly desirable.

Senior Hardware Engineer - Apply now

Our Hardware Engineers are responsible for the system and circuit design and evaluation in our VHF radio transceivers, radar transponders and navigation aids as well as providing support for our legacy products.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Schematic capture, detailed design and debugging of analogue and digital circuits.
  • Design for EMC, and against relevant standards.
  • Practical skills in assembling and debugging prototypes.
  • Experience of system and circuit design of digital and analogue circuitsWe are looking for technical professionals who prefer the creative, practical, and hands on aspects of engineering rather than those seeking to develop their career in people management. Whilst avionics experience is an advantage, applications are encouraged from engineers from other sectors with experience of designing and producing small devices such as medical instruments, automotive and the oil and gas sector where relevant skills and experience are transferrable.You will be able to provide clear examples of covering a complete project life cycle so it’s likely that you’ll have experience of working in a small company. Knowledge and experience of certification of products and design for manufacture will be an advantage, as will a knowledge of aircraft systems and equipment interfaces. ORCAD schematic and layout experience is also an advantage.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll join a small, friendly team and will demonstrate your ability to work well alongside people with various skill sets. With strong communication skills, you will be able to lead technical discussions with colleagues and clearly convey complex technical concepts to clients and contractors. You’ll have a confident outlook and possess excellent interpersonal skills.

We are situated in a great location in the outskirts of Edinburgh at Heriot Watt Research Park, adjacent to Heriot Watt University, with free car parking and good transport links.

Senior RF Engineer - Apply now

Our RF Engineers are responsible for the design of VHF radio transceivers, radar transponders and navigation aids as well as providing support for our legacy products.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:

  • RF system and circuit level design experience.
  • Experience of designs up to 1.6GHz.
  • Working knowledge of design of transmitters up to 300W.
  • Design experience of frequency synthesizers, power amplifiers, low noise amplifiers, mixers and IF strips.
  • RF PCB layout experience.
