Embedded Software Engineer – Edinburgh

All of our products use embedded processors to implement their features, and this is an opportunity to join our strong software team developing certified avionics products.

Our embedded software is entirely in C/C++ and generally runs on ARM processors.  We also write a lot of PC software tools as part of our validation and verification processes, mostly in C++ but with a variety of other solutions as required.  Our embedded systems use Keil tools, whilst our PC development is Visual Studio based.  We use TFS as our primary version control system.

You will be comfortable writing device drivers interacting directly with hardware, but will also be able to implement communication protocols and complex maths for navigation or DSP.  Our software is certified using DO-178C, and as well as coding skills you must therefore be comfortable with formal requirements capture, peer code reviews, and rigorous testing.

You will have a directly applicable degree in software or computer science, and some relevant industry experience.

Electronic Hardware Engineer – Edinburgh

Our avionics products use a mixture of microcontroller, FPGA’s, analogue audio hardware and RF designs, often all on a single board.  We are looking for a hardware engineer who is comfortable in all these areas to join our Engineering team.

You will be very comfortable designing with microcontrollers, and will be able to design low cost, low power, but feature rich products.  We work with ARM microcontrollers, design for harsh environmental conditions, implement state of the art RF designs, and do that using Cadence OrCAD design tools, Spice simulators, and a variety of tools and test equipment. You will have a directly applicable degree in electronics or equivalent, and some relevant industry experience.

Experience in avionics systems and interfaces, and use of DO-160 environmental standards would be a significant advantage.
