M.Eng Internship

Are you an undergraduate M.Eng student looking for work experience in a collaborative and innovative environment, with an interesting assignment for your final year project? If you are due to graduate in 2020, we are offering six-month internships between June and December 2019 in the final year of your degree.

We are Trig Avionics; we’re based in Heriot Watt Research Park, and we design cool avionics devices for General Aviation. Our transponder, VHF radio and GPS product lines are all certified products so, as well as getting the opportunity to design things, you’ll also learn about testing and documentation.

Our interns work on live problems that are relevant in this industry and we give them real responsibility to work on our products. It’s not a one way street though – we give you time and support to complete reports and presentations to meet your course requirements.

We work hard but we like to play too – you can join us on our flying days, team BBQs, nights out and sporting events like 5-a- side football and horse riding. You’ll also receive 3 weeks paid leave for a six-month placement.

We engage at least two M.Eng students each year and most of our Interns continue to help us on a part-time basis after their placement and are offered permanent employment with us when they graduate. Applications from overseas students are welcome.

Check out some of our placement reviews on Glassdoor or visit our website to hear from some of our staff.

We have a variety of projects available which will give you the opportunity to work with a team that specialises in analogue or digital hardware, software, RF and FPGA. You will also receive excellent coaching and mentoring from some of the best engineers in these disciplines.
